Locally Owned
Gadadessa is owned and operated by a Sri Lankan family, not a foreigner or corporate hotel chain. The owner purchased Gadadessa in an effort to conserve Sri Lanka’s remaining virgin rainforest and preserve it for generations to come. His dream was to create a special place in his home country that his children and grandchildren could visit in years to come and invite others in to partake of the truly unique experience Gadadessa has to offer. The family ownership, commitment to land stewardship, best environmental practices, and local employment to the nearby villages, marks the Gadadessa experience apart from other eco-retreat experiences.
